The Punjab Minister for Mines and Minerals, Ammar Yasir, who belongs from the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), has resigned citing pressure on his wwork. In his resignation, the minister said that undue pressure and hurdles were put on his work due to which he can no longer perform his duties. Yasir, who is PML-Q MPA from Chakwal, said that he took up the job to serve the country and nation, adding that he cannot work under undue pressure.

After the 2018 General Elections, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has formed a government with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid and brought former provincial chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as the speaker of the Punjab Assembly. Ammar Yasir has submitted his resignation to PML-Q leadership. Efforts are underway to remove the apprehensions of Ammar Yasir, sources said.
